The
Office of Public Affairs invites faculty, staff
and administrators who work on the Cal Poly
Pomona campus (including Associated Students
Inc. and Cal Poly Pomona Foundation employees)
to join Experts Online!
Experts
Online is a unique directory of experts that
serves as a resource for journalists seeking
specialists to comment on issues, individuals
and organizations looking for speakers, and
academics to identify opportunities for research
collaboration.
Those
who join Experts Online should be skilled in
their field/discipline. Those who choose to
be media sources must be well versed enough
in a subject or discipline to be quoted by the
media; speakers should be comfortable with delivering
a speech to an off-campus audience on their
subject or discipline; and collaborative researchers
are interested in working with other faculty/staff
on research or special projects.
At
Experts Online, members are empowered to add
and update their own information using their
Intranet account. After you submit your information,
the Office of Public Affairs may edit or change
your profile to maintain consistency in the
online publication. You may also return to your
profile to update information.
Once
you are listed in Experts Online, a number of
audiences may contact you, including members
of the media. Please note comments or opinions
given to the media should not be presented as
the opinion of the university as a whole unless
you are a designated spokesperson. In addition,
the Office of Public Affairs encourages experts
to alert media specialist Uyen Mai when a media
representative interviews them in order for
her to obtain copies of the article or program.
She can be contacted at (909) 869-5331 or utmai@csupomona.edu.
If
you have trouble signing up for Experts Online,
please call the Office of Public Affairs at
(909) 869-3342.
